UNVEILING THE PARALLELS: CHERNOBYL AND THE PLIGHT OF PLASTICS.

Our CEO, Manuel Rendon, drew an analogy between the Chernobyl disaster and the current widespread use of plastics. He described Chernobyl as a rapid but smaller-scale catastrophe compared to the gradual ‘plastification’ of all living beings. This process, though slower, is equally catastrophic and often goes unnoticed due to its gradual nature. Initially, plastic engineers believed that, since we are surrounded by water, it was essential to develop a water-resistant material. They envisioned plastic as a solution to numerous challenges, including food quality, providing a versatile, safe, and inexpensive material. However, just as the technicians at Chernobyl disabled the reactor’s power-regulating and emergency safety systems during an experimental procedure that resulted in the meltdown, we as a society are buying into materials that disable Earth’s most powerful and vital system: the Water Cycle.

Our massive, global expansion in the use of plastic disregards planetary safety systems, most of which are water-related. Our CEO believes this represents an almost unstoppable catastrophic event, unfolding slowly right before our eyes.
